Day Eleven Saturday (March 11)

Prayer:

God, guide and empower us in what we chose to value. Give us the wisdom to seek the true treasures that have the security of your kingdom. Amen.

Bible Reading:

Luke 12:22-34

Silence:

One to two minutes

Reflection:

“Don’t worry.” We frequently hear people say this to others, and often they are meaningless words because we have no control over that which is worrying us. We may be facing a legitimate threat of losing some kind of a possession, or we may be “in the wrong place at the wrong time”, or a statistic. It is very different, though, when Jesus says, “Don’t worry.” Those words are quite meaningful because he follows them up by telling us how to eliminate the threat to those things that are of real value. It is still true that we cannot prevent the threat of loss, but we have complete control on what we chose to value.

Action – Repentance and Creation:
Write down the five things in your life that cause you to worry.  Would the loss of any these objects of worry change the reality that you are deeply love and valued by God? Only one thing is needful, when that is clear, all things fall into place accordingly.
